Hunter using a ROKSTEDi bipod for coyote hunting in the field

Best Bipod for Coyote Hunting | ROKSTEDi

Coyote hunting (calling) is definitely something we love to partake in.  In fact, it's one of the reasons we designed & built our original (OG) line of ROKSTEDi bipods.

When you are coyote calling during daylight hours many times the best position to shoot from is in the seated position.  Coyotes can come in at almost any pace & sometimes they just appear out of nowhere.  Being adaptable with your shooting platform is a must as they are not stationary steel targets.

Varying terrain typically leads to coyote hunters wanting to get a little elevation so that way you can catch as many coyotes approaching your setup as possible.  When you are sitting on an inclination of a hill you will find yourself needing more height on your bipod legs than you do while sitting on flat ground.   The steeper the angle of the side hill the more bipod height you will need.

Another factor to consider when hunting in varying terrain is adjusting your bipod legs for coyotes approaching from different angles.   We like to make sure the area around our seated position is clear of as much vegetation &/or obstructions as possible because coyotes are unpredictable. You will need the ability to either adjust your bipod legs for a flanking coyote or move your seated position while not moving your bipod legs (this is only possible with a PAN/Tilt bipod).

Your height & torso size also matters when selecting your bipod.   If you are 5' 7" with a normal torso you can get away with a shorter bipod.  If you are 6' 3" with a long torso you will definitely want a bipod that gives you at least 40 inches of max height.

Here are our top bipod choices for coyote hunting:

  1. P242 (OG)

If you are over 6 foot & you hunt a lot of coyotes in varying terrain this bipod is the cream of the crop. The P242 has individual leg functions & PAN/TILT features which give you the ability to have ultimate adjustment when hunting coyotes.

2. HK P242

If you don't think you will need the Pan/Tilt features but you still want a taller max height on your bipod because you are tall & hunt varying terrain, you can't go wrong with the HK P242.

3.  P234 (OG)

If you are under 6' or you hunt coyotes in flatter terrain this bipod legit.  The P234 is our most popular selling bipod for guys that hunt both coyotes & big game.

4.  HK P234

HK P234 Bipod max height 32" with center of bore at 33-34"

If you are under 6 foot & you don't think you will need the Pan/Tilt features this bipod maybe the best choice for you.  Hunters over 6' that hunt flat terrain can also get away with using this bipod.  The HK P234 is a very light & simple bipod to use when coyote hunting.
